Description

Location: Sudbury, ON

Shift: Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm (40h/week)

Pay-rate: $35.45 - increasing to $43.94 after 4 months

Requirement: 310S License

The Class "A" Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and/or installs parts on delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet safety, operational, and productivity standards.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs, order parts, document work, and communicate with suppliers and operations.
  • Diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and report quality control concerns.
  • Perform repairs, install parts, and update customers on repair status.
  • Maintain parts inventory and purchase required parts.
  • Determine if parts can be rebuilt or repaired.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance administrative tasks.
  • Provide emergency roadside assistance and assess repair feasibility on-site.
  • Identify root causes and repair options, including logistics and payment methods.
  • Arrange vehicle pickups through third-party vendors.

Additional Responsibilities

Education

Completion of a Community College program of about two years in a specialized trade or occupational course.

Experience

  • Trade certification as an Automotive Service Technician (310S).
  • At least 5 years of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive equipment.
  • Quebec-specific: competence card or 3 years experience with attestation.
  • Valid G driver’s license.
