Job description

Directs maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repair.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation for efficient, high‑performing manufacturing operations.
  • Schedule maintenance in a timely manner and collaborate with Production to coordinate equipment and facility repairs.
  • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators to track and report maintenance performance (e.g., equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness).
  • Provide long‑term solutions and daily support for troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failures.
  • Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures; maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory.
  • Distribute and review work orders, ensuring labor requirements, materials, and priorities are met.
  • Evaluate emergency work and plan for future scheduled execution when appropriate.
  • Monitor job quality, duration, cost, and thoroughness while providing frequent progress updates to Production.
  • Ensure flexibility to work non‑standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) and related maintenance software.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical, electrical, PLCs, instrumentation, and TPM.
  • Strong leadership skills: conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision‑making, empowerment, and delegation.
  • Ability to lead problem‑solving and troubleshooting for high‑level process issues; strong planning and prioritization skills.
  • English proficiency; bilingual ability is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee a regular group of employees, including hiring input, disciplinary actions, and performance objectives.
  • Provide guidance and leadership within the Maintenance Department in accordance with organizational policies.
