Job summary

Cascades is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our Scarborough team. You will operate a 6 colour KBA large sheet-fed press, perform make-readies, and monitor colour using a Densitronic Scanner while ensuring top quality and safety.

The role demands 3–5 years of printing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with health and safety guidelines in place.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in printing or a related industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Proven ability to operate a KBA large sheet-fed press and perform make-ready.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 6 colour KBA large sheet-fed press and complete make-ready activities.
• Use the Densitronic Scanner to monitor colour and identify quality issues.
• Work safely and meet production priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow health and safety requirements, GMP, food safety, HACCP, and allergen management practices.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and report safety, quality, or food safety concerns immediately.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

Your strengths as a Press Operator:

• A high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read and write English.
• 3-5 years of experience in printing or a similar industry.
• Experience with KBA large sheet-fed presses, 6 colour press operation, make-ready, and a Densitronic Scanner.
• The ability to distinguish colours and recognize quality issues.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, initiative, and sound judgement.
• A cooperative approach, clear communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise and temperature levels.
