Qualifications

Summary: Ensures the safe and efficient operation of a First Class Plant, leading human resources on shift. The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts (day and night), averaging 42 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and enable 3rd Class operators through site-specific training
  • Test, maintain, and clean plant equipment and machinery during operations
  • Ensure physical security and guest management
  • Monitor and enforce radio etiquette and communication protocols
  • Maintain contractual KPIs and plant housekeeping
  • Manage CMMS tickets, coordinate tasks, and supervise subcontractors
  • Report incidents, risks, and deficiencies
  • Ensure proper chemical testing and inventory management
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality procedures
  • Manage shift schedules and provide support to other plants if needed
  • Monitor utility systems and plant controls

Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid TSSA Certified 2nd Class Operating Engineer ticket (consideration for 3rd Class working towards 2nd Class)
  • Strong mechanical comprehension and troubleshooting skills
  • At least ten years of experience as an Operating Engineer with supervisory experience in an industrial or power plant setting
