Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shift log entries and ensure awareness of outstanding issues.
  • Monitor steam, condensate, water treatment, wood waste, and other systems.
  • Assume responsibility for the plant in the absence of the Shift Engineer.

GreenFirst is looking for a 2nd class Power Engineer to support the Cogeneration Facility in the operation of the plant’s operating systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain shift log entries during each shift to ensure full awareness of any outstanding issues that may require special attention during the shift.
  • Ability to verify operation efficiency of the turbine generator, boilers, and auxiliaries using Delta V (DCS)
  • Be able to assume responsibility for the plant when Shift Engineer is absent.
  • Ability to perform Equipment monitoring and Operating System Checks to remain compliant with TSSA.
  • Ability to monitor Steam, Condensate, water treatment, wood waste, effluent handling, Turbine Generator, and support systems.
  • Understand water treatment / cooling water monitoring processes.
  • Understand Boiler chemistry and boiler support systems such as combustion / CEMS, fuel, and ash handling.
  • Support and assist with any other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Requires current valid 3rd Class Power Engineer certification (TSSA) with the commitment to achieve 2nd Class PE Certification
  • Requires considerable sensory attention and Regulatory Responsibility
  • Requires excellent mathematical skills, verbal communication skills, and mental reasoning skills.
  • Wear appropriate PPE required to work in hot, dirty, and chemical handling environments.
