Job summary

Stratus Electrical & Instrumentation seeks a skilled journeyman electrician or registered apprentice to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across commercial projects in Calgary. You will read blueprints, manage tray installations, and ensure safety compliance on site.

Ideal candidates hold Alberta certification, can lift 50 lbs, and are willing to travel to job sites. Experience with heat trace, fire alarm systems, and rigid piping is preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Certification as Red Seal Journeyman or registered apprentice required.
• Must have valid Alberta driver’s license and be willing to travel.
• Proven ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams.
• Experience with heat trace, EMT/Rigid piping, and fire alarm systems preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install and bond trays and perform tray wiring.
• Must have heat trace experience and work with undergrounds.
• Cable pulling, glanding, and installing, replacing, maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
• Plan and execute building layouts and read blueprints/single-line diagrams.
• Work with EMT and rigid piping/conduit; assemble mod packages and E-houses.
• Review CSA codes, standards and practices relevant to projects.
• Assist with Fire Alarm systems installation and maintenance.

Role Responsibilities:

• Tray installation and tray bonding
• Must have heat trace experience
• Undergrounds
• Cable pulling and glanding
• Installing, replacing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and related electrical equipment

• Read and interpret blueprints and single-line diagrams
