Job summary

ICON Creative Studio in Vancouver is seeking an Intermediate 2D Character Animator to bring characters to life with high-quality animation aligned to the show's style. You will handle a range of shots, including complex sequences, while maintaining continuity and delivering polished work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in 2D character animation and episodic production.
• Strong understanding of timing, spacing, posing, acting, and character performance.
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony or other industry-standard 2D animation software.
• Ability to animate a variety of shots, including complex character interactions and dynamic movement.
• Maintain character, style, and scene continuity across production.
• Interpret and apply creative direction and series-wide animation notes.
• Identify and communicate issues with assets, rigs, or animation workflows.
• Understand 2D animation pipelines and production workflows.
• Maintain clean, well-structured files and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with Animators, Leads, Supervisors, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 2D character animation that meets production standards.
• Animate a variety of shots, including complex interactions and dynamic sequences.
• Ensure consistency with the show's unique style across shots.
• Achieve shot approvals efficiently with minimal notes.
• Keep files and workflows organized according to studio standards.
• Maintain scene continuity across sequences and contribute to overall coherence.
• Address series-wide animation notes and implement changes as needed.
• Identify and communicate larger issues in assets or rigs to Leads or Supervisors.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and solve problems.
• Understand the pipeline and contribute to optimizing team workflows.
