Job summary

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) invites applications for a permanent part-time ESL/LINC Instructor at St. George's Centre for ESL to serve adult learners.

This position operates in-person, with funding from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Ontario ministry. The role is 13 hours 20 minutes per week, with a schedule Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 11:40 pm, and duties begin no sooner than October 14, 2026.

Qualifications

  • TESL Ontario accreditation or eligible; in good standing.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
  • Familiarity with LINC curriculum documents.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA).
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a multi-level task-based curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Proven commitment to learner success.
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom is an asset.

ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB and St. George's Centre for ESL is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a permanent part-time opportunity in the capacity of ESL/LINC Instructor in the non-credit adult ESL program.

This program funded jointly by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. The class level is Canadian Language Benchmark 2 and 3, including Literacy 2 and 3.

St. George's Centre

Note: This is an on-site role teaching an in-person class

FTE and Hours:

13 hours and 20 minutes per week

Hourly Pay Rate:

$36.49 - $44.84 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Work Schedule :

Monday to Friday; 9:00 am – 11:40 pm (which includes PBLA administration time); Equivalent to 13 hours and 20 minutes per week.

Start Date:

Duties to commence no sooner than October 14, 2026.
