Job Title: Registered Nurse

Status: Regular Part Time (Future Opportunities)

Department: Operating Room - ADM

Program: Surgical Program

Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends – 8 & 12 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)

Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa

Wage Schedule: $41.150 - $58.980 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Caring for unconscious patients in a sterile environment.
  • Maintaining specialized instruments.
  • Using the nursing process to provide patient care.
  • Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Maintaining nursing records (electronic and manual).
  • Performing other related duties as assigned in the scrub and circulating role within many specialized services in the Operating Room.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing).
  • Current BCLS.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Significant recent experience in the Operating Room and completion of Certified Operating Post Graduate Course.
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, problem‑solving and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable time frame.
  • Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Proven ability to lift, turn and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Proven knowledge of care and maintenance of specialized OR equipment.
  • Preferred: CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of invasive monitoring.
  • Preferred: Evidence of ongoing education.
  • Preferred: B.Sc.N.
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record.
