CAREER OPPORTUNITY : SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)

The UGDSB employs approximately 4000 dedicated staff serving over 35,000 students across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools, as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in Dufferin, Wellington, and Guelph. THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB seeks a dynamic individual for a permanent part-time position as a Speech Language Pathologist, reporting to the Manager of Communication, Language & Speech Services. This is a 10-month position (September to June) starting September 2, 2025.

Location : Various locations within the Board (locations may change based on needs).

Salary Range : Base salary: $78,219 - $98,447 (effective September 1, 2025) plus applicable vacation pay. A 6.0% labour market adjustment will be applied, making the salary range inclusive of market adjustment: $82,912 - $104,354.

Board Information : 10 months; permanent part-time; Professional Student Services Personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to K-12 students, focusing on those with communication disorders in K-2 at risk for academic challenges.
  • Deliver services through an S-LP/mediator team using direct and indirect approaches.
  • Collaborate with other UGDSB professionals and educators to support students' communication skills.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent; Registration with CASLPO.
  • Highly skilled, creative, flexible, enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy problem-solving independently and within a team.
  • Experience in a school setting with a consultative model is preferred.
  • Experience supervising supportive personnel is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
