Job summary

A non-contract entitled position as a High Needs Transitions Teacher is available at UGDSB International. This role focuses on supporting high needs students during their transition to school, working collaboratively with other team members to develop individualized plans for success. Qualifications include being a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and possessing Intermediate and/or Senior teaching qualifications. LOCATION : Specific locations are listed in the application linked below.

DATES & HOURS : Hours and dates in August are to be determined, dependent on student need and funding. The specific days and times will be arranged with the supervising principal.

FEDERATION AFFILIATION : While performing this position, you are a member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation representing the District 18 Teachers’ Bargaining Unit. Union dues will apply.

RATE OF PAY : Teachers shall be paid according to their placement on the Secondary Teacher Salary Grid.

JOB SUMMARY :

This position supports high needs students with their transition to school. The teacher will meet with the student and other school team members to develop an individualized plan to help the student prepare for a successful start to the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, ASSETS :

  • A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Intermediate and / or Senior teaching qualifications
  • Special Education Part 1 considered an asset
