This is a remote work opportunity. You must have a suitable offsite work location in Nova Scotia and be within commuting distance of any of NSCC's physical campuses. NSCC will supply you with all computing requirements (computer, monitors, etc.).

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Working remotely in a fully online team environment, you will be reporting to the Academic Chair managing the Adult Learning Program (ALP) for eCampus.

You will provide a full range of administrative support services to our team including the Academic Chair, two eCampus ALP Counsellors, and approximately twenty faculty. Your primary responsibilities include managing and tracking communications with applicants and students, digital record keeping and file management, inputting and retrieving data, running reports, managing and updating student records. Notably, you will be responsible for communications supporting the intake, onboarding, orientation and advisement of hundreds of ALP students.

You Will Provide The Following Support Services

  • Contact applicants for entry into the Adult Learning Program - arrange and track their completion of entry Math & Communications assessments, arrange intake assessment meetings with ALP Counsellors and follow up with any that do not attend
  • Send joining instructions to new program entrants
  • Partner with Faculty Advisors and Academic Chair to arrange onboarding meetings for new students and advisement meetings for course selection each semester
  • Maintain systems tracking student compliance with orientation, completion of an intake survey for funders, and payment/opting out of fees associated with the program
  • Make and field telephone, Microsoft Teams, and email enquiries about ALP
  • Other administrative and student communications duties as directed by the Academic Chair

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration. High school completion with significant years of administrative experience (10+) will also be considered.
  • You have a minimum of two years' (full-time equivalent) recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • You have occupational experience that includes digital records management.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Bookings, Outlook and email.
  • Knowledge of running reports from enterprise systems like PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • Occupational experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students in a post-secondary educational environment would be considered an asset.
