This is a remote work opportunity. You must have a suitable offsite work location in Nova Scotia and be within commuting distance of any of NSCC's physical campuses. NSCC will supply you with all computing requirements (computer, monitors, etc.).

The salary scale for NSCC Faculty ranges from $74,170.79 to $102,223.12, with new faculty potentially receiving up to nine steps based on experience, up to a maximum of $95,478.45.

What you'll do

Responsibilities
As a member of the School of Technology & Environment faculty team, you will:

  • Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the IT Programming program.
  • Design and deliver educational experiences for diverse learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation using various technologies such as Brightspace and classroom tech.
  • Participate in academic advisement, committee work, program marketing, curriculum development, work placement support, liaising with industry, representing the College, and upholding policies.
  • Follow health and safety practices in classrooms, labs, and shops.
  • Stay current with industry practices and enhance teaching methods, including online and blended delivery modes.
What you'll need

Qualifications
Minimum educational qualification: college diploma or university degree related to IT Programming.
Skills in software development, programming, web programming, networking, and IT security, with experience in object-oriented languages.
At least five years of recent occupational experience in IT, especially in software development and programming languages.
Technical knowledge of relevant software programs.
Experience liaising with industry.
Proficiency with MS Office, email, and video conferencing tools.
Comfort with digital environments and technology integration in teaching.
Experience in adult education delivery is an asset.
Knowledge of safety practices and ability to teach online/blended courses effectively, with willingness to undergo training if needed.
