The salary scale for NSCC Faculty is based on twelve steps ranging from $74,170.79 to $102,223.12. New NSCC Faculty may receive up to five steps for relevant occupational experience and up to four additional steps for full-time instructional experience, with a maximum of nine steps or $95,478.45.

What you'll do

Responsibilities
As a member of the School of Technology and Environment faculty team, you will:

  • Provide instruction in Construction Project Management and Civil Engineering Technology, covering construction practices, estimating, project management, and construction law, including concrete technology, site supervision, scheduling, labor relations, environmental regulations, and application of the National Building Code and CCDC contracts.
  • Support student learning through applied, real-world scenarios, fostering skills in technical drawing, quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, safety, and technical mathematics.
  • Design and deliver educational experiences for diverse learners, using various teaching technologies such as Brightspace and classroom tech.
  • Participate in academic advisement, committee work, program marketing, curriculum development, work placement support, industry liaison, and uphold NSCC policies.
  • Ensure health and safety practices are followed in all teaching and lab environments.
  • Maintain industry currency and develop teaching practices, including online and blended modalities, with training provided if needed.
What you'll need

Qualifications
Minimum educational qualification: a university degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
At least five years of recent occupational experience in construction administration/management and estimating.
Experience in supervisory roles and industry liaison is an asset.
Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, email, and basic internet research.
Comfort with digital environments and technology for teaching, including online/blended instruction.
Knowledge of WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and safety practices.
Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
