Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal, this position will play a vital role in advancing the College's initiatives within the Campuses and Communities portfolio by fostering proactive collaboration and engagement with the Principals' Administrative Assistants under the functional leadership of the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Campuses and Communities.
As the Administrative Assistant to the Regional Principal at Truro and Cumberland Campuses, you will:
- Be a central contact person for the Northern Region and have a significant role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive regional campus community environment for students and staff.
- Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the office of the principal and the greater campus community through collaboration with the management team, faculty and staff.
- Support the overall coordination of regional communications through various communication channels including email, MS Teams, Office 365 Tools and updating and maintaining the Truro Campus and Cumberland Campus Connect sites.
- Provide confidential administrative support and leadership such as maintaining the principal's electronic calendar and daily agenda, submitting travel and expense claims, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, collating data, and drafting, proofreading, and editing a variety of correspondence.
- Liaise with guests to the Principal's Office on meeting requirements and logistics.
- This position requires a high level of initiative with an incumbent who anticipates needs and takes proactive measures within scope of authority.
What you'll need
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification is a Certificate and/or Diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration.
- You have a minimum of 5 years (full-time equivalent) of progressive experience at senior administrative levels in a fast-paced office environment.
- Experience working with various teams within the organization on project coordination, tracking, and stewardship to ensure quality assurance.
- Experience supporting an executive role or senior leader is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 tools like SharePoint, OneNote, Teams, Planner, and Forms.
- Experience with workplace applications like Peoplesoft, Cognos, etc.
- You are proficient in a digital environment, responsible for technological knowledge, and committed to leveraging technology for effective work outputs in a distributed setting.
- You are highly organized and capable of managing competing priorities efficiently.
