The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Category, the Manager of Merchandising Systems leads the strategic execution and manages the listing function within the Shopper Engagement Team. The Manager collaborates with the Director of Category, Director of Insights and Strategy, and the Category Team by providing strategic recommendations and influencing decision-making related to listings. This role is vital for Shopper Engagement, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration to foster strong relationships. The Manager is also responsible for coaching and developing the listing team.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Listing team to operate efficiently and effectively, providing coaching and mentorship.
  • Conduct weekly 1-1 meetings with each listing coordinator, set priorities, triage daily activities, and review progress with Category Managers.
  • Serve as the Shopper Engagement liaison across NSLC Business Units, participating in design, development, and implementation of initiatives.
  • Represent Shopper Engagement in cross-functional teams, attending meetings, sharing updates, and consulting with leadership on initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Experience team on communication and execution of listing initiatives, participating in regional meetings and store calls.
  • Ensure consistent application of Master Data elements across all categories and platforms like SAP and the External website.
  • Work with teams to understand and improve data accuracy and process efficiency, engaging with Data Integrity and Reporting Analysts.
  • Lead Shopper Engagement's preparation for ERP system implementation, including process documentation and team training.
  • Participate actively in ERP project meetings, providing updates and ensuring team deliverables.
  • Research and document best practices for Shopper Engagement processes, collaborating with other retailers and jurisdictions to identify improvements.

Secondary Responsibilities :

  • Participate in supplier meetings as needed.
  • Uphold NSLC's values, social responsibility, and safety standards.
  • Support NSLC's Service Standards and perform other duties, including travel within Nova Scotia.
  • Coordinate with IT, Finance, Strategy & Insights to ensure data and financial standards are met.
  • Provide backup support to Managers of Space Planning and Pricing.
  • Support the achievement of Shopper Engagement goals: Team, Community.

What you'll need

Qualifications

As a qualified candidate you will have :

  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum five years of progressive management experience in merchandising and/or marketing within retail.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems, with preference for ERP implementation experience.

As an ideal candidate you will have :

  • Five to ten years of management experience in retail operations.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Retail Management.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
