Position Objective
As an integral member of the Infrastructure and Capital Development Department, the Project Manager (PM), may manage minor/major capital projects and/or HIRF and Energy Projects. The PM organizes and executes projects including Construction, Renovation, Energy and Infrastructure projects (roofing, plumbing/sewer, hot water/boilers, air handlers, energy, emerg/standby generators, chillers, HVAC etc.), under the direction of the Senior Manager, Capital Delivery.
The PM will work with other Lakeridge Health Capital and Infrastructure Team members, to interface with Lakeridge Health ("LH") user groups, stakeholders, consultants, internal/external advisors, procurement, finance and legal.
This position requires presence at various Lakeridge Health sites.
Duties/Responsibilities
" Leading and overseeing planning and construction activities, ensuring a safe site
" Developing and implementing strategies to effectively engage stakeholders to promote Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Anti-Racism
" Performing financial and project management activities related to project budgets, scheduling, scope containment and adherence to procurement requirements
" Reporting on construction activities, progress, risk and issues.
" Having oversight of contract preparation and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
" Engaging and supervising the activities of contractors, subcontractors and/or trades
" Performing quality management responsibilities
" Performing administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation and reporting on portfolio of projects
" Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested
" Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
" Ensure adherence to specifications, codes, legislation/regulation, standards, policies and procedures, and Ministry of Health Reporting requirements
" Liaise with user groups, contractor, architect, consultants and trades to enhance productivity, efficiency and fiscal accountability.
Qualifications
" Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering where project management forms part of curriculum;
" 5 - 10+ years in related field;
" Accredited membership in related fields with the applicable Professional Association (e.g. P. Eng, CEM, PMP, etc.) an asset;
" Registration with the Ontario Architects Association, Professional Engineers Ontario or Professional Quantity Surveyor is an asset.
" Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
" Experience with Ministry of Health, Hospital Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) an asset;
" Experience with Ministry of Health, Minor and/or Major Capital projects, and P3 projects an asset;
" Significant project management experience as part of a healthcare capital planning project is an asset;
" Solid and demonstrated understanding of building systems & infrastructure;
" Project planning, design, and construction implementation skills;
" Understanding of Infrastructure Ontario project delivery methods is an asset;
" Experience in a clinical hospital setting is an asset;
" Proven experience in effectively managing diverse teams of project consultants, specialists and user groups;
" Able to work in a fast paced, results and schedule driven environment both independently and as part of a team;
" Detailed understanding of construction methods and processes;
" Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Code, CSA Standards and other applicable standards is an asset;
" Significant experience in managing project schedule, project budget and project changes;
" Sustainable Design/LEED/WELL experience is an asset;
" On-site construction review/inspection experience is an asset;
" Highly developed communications and presentation skills;
" Consultation, negotiation and consensus building skills;
" Experience in finding positive solutions to complex issues and problems with a variety of stakeholders;
" Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
" Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
" Demonstrated ability to manage complex and concurrent project activities, meet deadlines and manage change is essential;
" Well versed Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint. Experience in MS Project and Revu Bluebeam is an asset.
