The Township of Esquimalt is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to lead HR strategies and programs that foster an inclusive culture and engage employees. The role involves overseeing core HR functions, managing collective agreements, and promoting a positive workplace environment. Applicants should have a degree in human resources management or equivalent, along with significant experience in labor relations, preferably within local government.

The Township is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Human Resource Manager. Reporting to the CAO, this position leads the organization in HR strategies and programs that support employees and organizational strategies. The Senior HR Manager is a vital part of the senior leadership team and plays a critical role in fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture where employees are engaged and aligned with organizational values and objectives.
In addition to overseeing core HR functions, the Senior Human Resource Manager will provide strategic leadership in labour relations, including managing collective agreements, leading negotiations, supporting positive union-management relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment and labour legislation. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in labour relations, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving to promote a respectful and productive workplace.
The ideal candidate will have a undergraduate degree in human resources management, public administration, business administration, or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of progressive senior human resources leadership experience in a unionized setting, preferably in local government, with experience in collective bargaining.
