This position, or more so the relationship that comes from this position, is an important part of supporting this person to have a well-intentioned good life.

Duties And Responsibilities

You will meet this person at their home near 4th Avenue and Alma Street; Most evenings will involve going out for small excursions in the local neighbourhood and then being at the person’s home and preparing a meal for them. There is also some housework that will need to be tended to.

Some evenings you and the individual may go out for a drive and then dine out at a restaurant. Sometimes you may help the person to buy groceries, other times you may support them to attend social events (e.g. Potluck).

Other Duties May Include

  • Supporting the person to make healthy food choices.
  • Providing information to the person when there are potential complex challenges.
  • Communicating with a fun and supportive team.
  • Supporting dignity and independence.

CSW : $24.50 / hour to $26.65 / hour

Driving Requirement

Driver's license (Class 5)

Preferred Training Or Experience

We are recommending a minimum 1 year related experience working in the community living sector or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Mental health experience would be an asset.

Calm and confident presence

Good listener

Demonstrated knowledge of practical skills in supporting people to observe and resolve conflicts in the community

Interest in politics and media would be an asset

Demonstrated ability to communicate key information to team members and supervisors

Driving is required, you will be driving the person’s vehicle
