SENIOR BYLAW COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The City of Maple Ridge is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Bylaw Compliance Officer to join our dedicated team. In this supervisory position, you will lead a team of bylaw officers, providing guidance and support while actively participating in fieldwork. Responsibilities include responding to complex bylaw complaints, conducting inspections, and playing a key role in business licensing. Completion of Grade 12 education, supplemented by bylaw enforcement courses and sound experience in inspectional and enforcement work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Supervisory experience in a unionized work environment.
Class 5 Driver's License - Province of British Columbia
Work hours are based on operational needs and may be adjusted. The position involves a compressed work schedule of four 10.5-hour days, including a 30-minute unpaid break, rotating between day and afternoon shifts, Wednesday through Saturday.
The ideal candidate will be aware of and sensitive to a diverse community. Must be capable of problem-solving, investigating complaints, and enforcing bylaws with tact and sound judgment. The role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, standing, walking, and driving, alongside some office work.
