The City of Port Coquitlam is seeking a Trainee backhoe operator to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment. The successful applicant will receive training and work under supervision to ensure operational objectives are met. Candidates must possess a valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Endorsement and demonstrate relevant skills in heavy equipment operation.
The successful applicant for this position will be trained to operate a backhoe. Responsibilities include safe operation, minor maintenance, and routine service of the equipment. Assignments are received from a supervisor, who checks the work during progress and upon completion to ensure objectives are met. The applicant will be responsible to the Foreman, Supervisor, or Charge Hand of the relevant department.
