Duties And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support an individual who thrives with structured routines and visual schedules. This person enjoys active pursuits such as biking, swimming, skating, and scooter riding, as well as quieter activities like playing piano and badminton. They prefer solitary activities but can join group settings with patient and encouraging support.

In This Role, You Will

  • Communicate effectively, respecting the individual’s need for extra time to process and respond.
  • Support personal care needs, ensure home hygiene, and promote health routines.
  • Foster participation in recreational activities and explore community involvement opportunities.
  • Encourage social interactions, emotional well-being, and meaningful relationships.
  • Ensure safety and supervision in all settings, especially outdoor and public spaces.
  • Provide evening and overnight support at home and in the community (Saturday overnight to Sunday morning).

  • Is proactive in managing health, safety, and behavioral needs with sensitivity and respect.
  • Has experience or interest in supporting individuals with autism or similar needs.

Reports To: Manager

Rate Of Pay: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour

Probation: 3 months

Driving Requirement: Driver's license (Class 5)

Preferred Training Or Experience

  • Supporting people who get anxious
  • Motivating, encouraging, and engaging interests of others
  • Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
