A community-based non-profit organization is seeking a Food Security Assistant (Summer Student) to support food waste recovery and food insecurity programs. The role involves community engagement, event participation, and volunteer coordination. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and a commitment to equity and diversity.
Position: Food Security Assistant (Summer Student)
Location:South Surrey, BC
Hours: 35 hrs/week (8-week contract)
Salary: $17.85/hour
Start Date: July 7, 2025
We are looking for a Food Security Assistant to join our Sources Food Security team! This person will assist with Sources’ food waste recovery and food insecurity programs, with a focus on community engagement and education, community event participation, as well as program and volunteer coordination. This individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a class 5 drivers’ license with a clean driving record, be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and possess a desire to address the root causes of food insecurity in our communities.
