1.0 FTE Mental Health Lead

Fort Frances Board Office or Dryden Board Office

The Northwest Catholic District School Board is a system committed to Catholic Education. The Board serves the communities of Dryden, Fort Frances, Sioux Lookout, Atikokan and Stratton in Northwestern Ontario. The Board operates five elementary schools, serving a total of approximately 1300 students.

The Northwest Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Mental Health Lead, located in either the Fort Frances or Dryden Board Office, commencing as soon as possible.

Duties:

The Mental Health Lead is responsible for coordinating, developing, aligning and implementing the Board’s Mental Health Strategy by providing leadership within the Board and community in the area of school mental health by:

· Facilitating and organizing the Mental Health Leadership Team;

· Leading strategies, protocols, procedures and programs to support mental health and wellness for all students;

· Preparing an annual budget that aligns with the Ministry of Education initiatives and the Board’s Strategic Plan;

· Providing support to staff members with evidence based approaches to mental health promotion and prevention;

· Collaborating with system leaders to further develop a comprehensive mental health and addictions strategy;

· Working with the Special Education Program and Policy branch of the Ministry of Education through School Mental Health Ontario.

Required Qualifications:

· Completion of a graduate degree (Master or PhD) in Social Work, Clinical/School Psychology or Psychiatry;

· Eligibility for registration with a college governing mental health professionals;

· Clinical experience within a school district setting, across the tiers of mental health intervention (promotion, prevention, intervention, crisis, system navigation);

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of mental health;

· A solid grounding in the faith and moral principles of the Catholic Health Association of Canada Health Care Ethics Guide.

Salary/Benefits:

· $106,398 to $113,266 (dependent upon experience and qualifications);

· We also offer a comprehensive and generous benefit package including vacation, personal leave and enrollment into the OMERS Pension Plan.
