General Description

• Performs duties related to planning, estimating, scheduling, and field coordination activities for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed cost estimates considering engineering specifications and contract conditions; researches, analyzes, and recommends methods to minimize labor, equipment requirements, and costs; revises estimates and schedules accordingly.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs for materials and components; calculates costs based on established data or estimates; assesses risks and incorporates them into estimates and pricing.
• Applies markups to ensure full recovery of overhead expenses.
• Prepares work schedules and coordinates project activities; may design drawings and perform site surveys.

Qualifications

Must haves:

• Valid Class 5 driver's license and own vehicle for site visits.
• Diploma of Technology or degree in a construction-related field (Engineering, Forestry, Architecture, etc.) or related trades qualification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction and/or project management (field or office).

Nice to haves:

• Experience supporting construction crews.
• Ability to work both in office and field environments, with exposure to weather and construction hazards.

Summary

Location: Full-time in Surrey with site visits; potential for remote work 1-2 days/week after 6 months.

Site visits within the lower mainland as required.
