Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Winter 2027 Student placement to support Risk Analytics within Group Risk Management in Toronto. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers and Analysts to document requirements, develop metrics, and QA analytics in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility requires returning to school after Aug 2027 or completing an 8-month term for graduation. The role emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and strong communication as you help monitor risk and support

• Must-have Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment.
• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience creating and running Python scripts.
• Motivated and analytical, with strong achievement orientation and attention to detail.

What is the opportunity?

You will assist a team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Analysts in performing Risk Analytics through partnering with Operational Risk stakeholders to assess and document business requirements and evolving needs. The role requires a combination of business and technical skills to ensure Operational Risk monitoring and Management needs are effectively being met.

This posting is for a 8-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of August 2027.

In order to be eligible for this 8-months Student position, you must either: Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2027 ; or If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2027), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
