GM of Canada Company in Markham is seeking a software engineer-in-training to help design and develop Linux-based connectivity software for vehicles. You will work with hardware, application, and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end reliability and performance.
The role focuses on building C, C++, and Rust tools, improving developer efficiency, and driving prototyping speed. This is a coop-position requiring full-time hours and a 8–12 month term with hybrid attendance.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) three times per week at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
Our vehicle communication team is hiring a software engineer to design and develop software in our Linux-based connectivity system. You'll be part of a team working to ship the world's most reliable connectivity. What You'll Do GM is developing a breakthrough new system for vehicle software and communications, and you'll be at the heart of it. We design our own hardware, so you'll work closely with hardware teams to meet the tough power and reliability requirements of vehicles. You'll also work closely with our application and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end reliability and performance.
NOTE- YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN A CO-OP PROGRAM AND MEET THE PROGRAM’S ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. ALL STUDENTS MUST ALSO BE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO WORK IN CANADA. The monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $4784.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
