General Motors Canada in Oshawa is offering a Co-op Production Group Leader position through the EXCEL program. You will supervise a group of hourly employees, ensure safety and quality, and contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement.

The Role

As a Production Group Leader, the individualis responsible forsupervising a group of employees involved in production, or operations. The groupis responsible forquality products in a safe, andtimelymanner! Also, the Co-Op student willbe responsible forreducing costs,eliminatingwaste, and improving safety practices. Together with other Group Leaders, you are part of a team supporting businessobjectives, andmaintainingoperationat a world‑class level! Some of the problem‑solving work is of a technical nature. This type of work requires the ability to maketimelydecisions within specified limits, thatthe individual can effectively cope with change, and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

Furthermore, the Production Group Leader can expect tobe collaboratingoninnovationchallenges,interactingwith industry leaders, attending professional trade events, and volunteering for community service activities.

Several departments currently have openings for a Production Group Leader, including Body, Sub‑Assembly and Stamping.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry are considered assets
• Previoussupervisory, or team leading experience

The salary range for this role is $4264- $4784 CAD. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
