Job Description As an intern, you will support RBC Corporate Treasury’s (CT) Risk Initiatives & Infrastructure (RII) team in developing, maintaining, and executing CT’s Structural Interest Rate, Liquidity Risk, and Funds Transfer Pricing measurement processes and data infrastructure, with focus on retail and commercial banking portfolios. The RII team plays a lead role in existing processes and new initiatives, through effective and efficient technology solutions. It is a critical part of a larger integrated Corporate Treasury area responsible for interest rate risk methodologies and measurement, funds transfer pricing, and the associated infrastructure, which together enable a holistic view of the balance sheet and enhance RBC’s understanding of product pricing and the relationship between profitability, funding, and interest rates. In this role, you will develop and implement the requisite risk measurement and data infrastructure and ensure execution of Corporate Treasury’s production processes, while gaining first‑hand experience with RBC’s retail and commercial banking book balance sheet and interest rate risk, asset liability management, and funds transfer pricing practices.
The right person for this role has system and data management experience, exposure to liquidity and interest rate risk, with an aptitude and affinity towards regulatory risk management in banking.
Must Have: Currently enrolled in and/or studying in a relevant graduate degree (e.g., MBA, Quantitative Finance, data analytics, risk management, etc.).
In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either: Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.
