Overview

As part of RBC Global Asset Management, the Performance team plays a critical role in delivering accurate and timely investment performance analysis and reporting on a global scale. As a team member, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes and analytical tools. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with investment teams and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What will you do?

This role focuses on software development, with an emphasis on automating and digitizing legacy processes. You will support the Fixed Income Performance team, with key responsibilities including:

  • Develop and maintain full-stack software solutions to support performance reporting and analysis.
  • Optimize existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Manage databases effectively, including performing data engineering tasks such as normalization and optimization.
  • Write complex queries to extract and analyze data accurately.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of new and existing web applications.
  • Oversee project management tasks to ensure timely and successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Design and develop precise, strategy-specific performance reports tailored to various investment strategies.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • This is a technology role on the business side, finance related experience and/or coursework is highly valued.
  • Proficient in working with large datasets using Python and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of the mutual fund industry and financial markets.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail and ensures accuracy when working with large datasets.
  • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Previous internship experience in a related industry is highly valued.
  • Familiarity working with GitHub Copilot.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of web development and experience working with Dash and Plotly.
