Job summary

West Vancouver Schools is seeking a part-time PE teacher at Sentinel Secondary School, effective immediately until June 30, 2026. This position teaches PE 9-10 and will require prorated compensation based on FTE.

Applicants must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate, demonstrate experience with integrating technology into the curriculum, and collaborate effectively with students, staff and parents.

Qualifications

PE Teacher

Part-time (0.375 FTE) Position

Sentinel Secondary School

Effective immediately until June 30th, 2026

The annual salary for a fulltime teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the West Vancouver Teachers' Association Collective Agreement. Salary will be prorated based on FTE.

This position consists of PE 9-10. .

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Physical Education.
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
• Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards.
• Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
• An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
• Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
