Job summary

School District No 45 (West Vancouver) invites applications for a Part-time (0.375 FTE) Physical Education teaching position at Sentinel Secondary School. The appointment is effective immediately until June 30th, 2026, with the posting closing Sept 22, 2026.

The full-time salary range for a comparable position is $63,347 to $116,190; pay is prorated for the 0.375 FTE assignment in accordance with the WV Teachers' Association Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Physical Education.
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
• Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and IRPs with evidence of criterion referenced assessment.
• Excellent communication with students, staff and parents
• Ability to use varied teaching strategies to meet diverse learners' needs
• Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based planning and teaching
• Proven ability to develop a positive learning environment and strong organization in the classroom
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork

Teacher – Part-time (0.375 FTE) Position

POSTED: September 15th, 2026. CLOSING DATE: 1:00pm on September 22nd, 2026. COMPETITION: 2026-64.

Part-time (0.375 FTE) Position – PE Teacher. Sentinel Secondary School. Effective immediately until June 30th, 2026.

The annual salary for a fulltime teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the West Vancouver Teachers' Association Collective Agreement. Salary will be prorated based on FTE.

This position consists of PE 9-10.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Physical Education.
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
• Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards.
• Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
• An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
• Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
