Job summary

Elte Carpets Limited in Attawapiskat is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare meals according to dietary needs and maintain workplace hygiene. This casual role involves working shifts in a supportive environment at WAHA, focusing on health and community.

What We Do

We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. Who You Are

• Must be familiar with the Canada Food Guide, the preparation of meals according to special dietary needs
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Reliable and able to work all shifts
• Ability to lift 10 kg
• Ability to work as a team member

• Report any safety issues to manager
• All other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Successful completion of secondary school or equivalency
• Completion of Culinary School is an asset and/or one year experience in volume cooking, preferably hospital setting
• Possession of/or the ability to obtain Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset
• Knowledge of dietary department procedures
• Knowledge in the proper handling and storage of food and able to follow the dietary sanitation code
