OCDSB is seeking a creative, dynamic educator to join the 2026/2027 Pathways to Interdependence Program, delivering IDC courses in-person at Adult HS on Tuesday evenings (Nov 3, 2026–May 25, 2027). The role requires Intermediate & Senior Ontario teaching credentials and a commitment to 2SLGBTQ+ community advocacy.

The position may include attendance at the Rainbow Youth Forum and potential make‑up days in accordance with the collective agreement. Pay rate: $56.84/hour plus 4% vacation pay.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Intermediate & Senior qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the prescribed credit for IDC3O, IDC4O or IDC4U according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Attend sessions outside the scheduled evenings as required, including the Rainbow Youth Forum.
  • Comply with the applicable collective agreement provisions and attend make-up days if necessary.

2026/2027 Pathways to Interdependence Program


Overview

The 2SLGBTQ+: Pathways to Interdependence Program offers Reach Ahead courses in the following subjects: IDC3O, IDC4O or IDC4U.


The course will be delivered in-person at Adult HS, 300 Rochester Street, on Tuesday evenings from November 3, 2026, to May 25, 2027 (26 evenings - no classes on January 26). In addition, staff and students may be required to attend sessions outside of this time frame, including the Rainbow Youth Forum. Each session is 3.85 instructional hours.


Teachers must be prepared to deliver the assigned credit through a predetermined schedule. Please note, as per the most recent collective agreement, article 40.02 c: in the event that the Employer cancels two (2) or more days/evenings of Continuing Education courses as a result of unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, Continuing Education teachers will be required to attend and teach a make-up day.


Pay rate: $56.84 /hour + 4% vacation pay

Qualifications

The 2SLGBTQ+: Pathways to Interdependence Program (planning the Rainbow Youth Forum) constitutes a Special Program pursuant to Section 14 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, as it has been put into place to relieve hardships associated with a historically disadvantaged identity group and to assist 2SLGBTQ+ students in this group to achieve equal opportunity in education.


As such, it is an essential requirement of the position that the successful applicant identifies as a member of this historically disadvantaged group and can demonstrate a shared lived experience and depth of 2SLGBTQ+ community advocacy experience, as they will be uniquely placed to deliver the curriculum and to support the goals and needs of the program.


Applicants MUST hold Intermediate & Senior qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers (in good standing) at the time of application.

Subject to the essential requirement above, all teachers (with or without Continuing Education (CE) Seniority) can apply to this posting.



Order of Consideration

Teachers with CE Seniority who appear on the October 2026 Continuing Education Seniority List with applicable qualifications, including identification as a member of the historically disadvantaged group with shared lived experience, are encouraged to apply and will be granted an interview.


If the position remains unfilled, teachers not on the October 2026 Continuing Education Seniority List may be offered an interview in accordance with the requirements and OCT qualifications outlined in this job posting and in accordance with Policy P.146.HR Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion.
