Job summary

Eastern Townships School Board is seeking qualified teachers to cover classes as substitutes. You will step in when the regular teacher is absent and deliver engaging lessons in both English and French.

Successful applicants will hold a Quebec Brevet or a valid teaching license and may be enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program. Experience with bilingual education is valued, and a degree in Education is preferred.

Salary: As per the current collective agreement:

Youth sector:

Non-legally qualified : $54.11 per hour

Legally qualified :$63.14 per hour

Adult sector:

Non-legally qualified:$74.74 per hour

Legally qualified:$80.75 per hour

*To be considered qualified, you must hold a Quebec-issued brevet or teaching license

Required qualifications

Priority is given to candidates with:

1. A Quebec Brevet
2. A valid teaching license issued by the Quebec Ministry of Education
3. A degree in Education

Candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program are also welcome to apply.

We also accept unqualified candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with experience working with students.

International Studies

For diplomas obtained abroad, the comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration attesting that you have a bachelor's degree is required.

Other requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingualism (French/English) and ability to teach fluently in both languages
