Job summary

Eastern Townships School Board is seeking qualified substitute teachers to support classrooms in the youth and adult sectors. Positions pay hourly according to eligibility: non-legally qualified and legally qualified rates in youth and adult sectors, with bilingual instruction across English and French.

Applicants should hold a Quebec Brevet or teaching license, or be enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.

• Québec teaching license is required or in process.
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent is valued.

Working conditions

Title: Bank of Substitute teachers

Salary

As per the current collective agreement:

Youth sector

Non-legally qualified : $54.11 per hour

Legally qualified :$63.14 per hour

Adult sector

Non-legally qualified:$74.74 per hour

Legally qualified:$80.75 per hour

*To be considered qualified, you must hold a Quebec-issued brevet or teaching license

Required qualifications

Priority is given to candidates with:

1. A Quebec Brevet
2. A valid teaching license issued by the Quebec Ministry of Education
3. A degree in Education

Candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program are also welcome to apply.

We also accept unqualified candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with experience working with students.

International Studies

For diplomas obtained abroad, the comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration attesting that you have a bachelor's degree is required.

Other requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingualism (French/English) and ability to teach fluently in both languages
