Job description

  • Schedule: Project Dependent (Pre Work 4/10's, Execution 6&1)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Foreman, the Laborer assumes responsibility for all general Laborer duties required on industrial scope construction projects.

  • Maintain Inventory of available materials.
  • Execute preventative maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Breaking containment under air.
  • Closing and opening valves on a regular basis.
  • Address and escalate safety concerns.
  • Operate shop equipment to include, but not limited to: vehicles, forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
  • Operate and care for equipment and machines.
  • Maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas.
  • Follow instructions/protocol/policy from crew Lead Hand and Foreman.
  • Assist craft workers as necessary.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Foreman.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry an asset
  • CSTS-20
  • Emergency First Aid
  • H2S Alive
  • Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
  • Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing required

Working Conditions

  • Overtime as required
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working at heights
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Bending and kneeling
  • Must be clean shaven
  • LOA not provided
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required

Physical Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.; Occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb stairs, scaffolds and other objects
