Job Description - 2025 Quality Lab Technician Co-op (8-12-Month) - University (2507030730W)

This position reports into Senior Supervisor Quality Laboratory and is based at Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Role reports to: Senior Supervisor Quality Laboratory
Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Pay: Anticipated weekly pay rate of ($775 - $915) depending on skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.

What you will do

The Student Quality Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products, and GMP duties including solution preparation and glassware washing.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support laboratory testing programs by prioritizing and preparing reagents and solutions.
  2. Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory glassware and operation of glassware dishwasher.
  3. Complete housekeeping and GMP support tasks ensuring compliance with all procedures.
  4. Assist in conducting quality control tests on various products in the lab.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all testing procedures and results.
  6. Participate in continuous improvement projects.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  1. An active student currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (undergraduate).
  2. Pursuing a degree in a science or engineering program.
  3. Eligible to complete an 8–12-month co-op term at Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
  4. Ability to work during the duration of the assignment. The program will be active from Monday-Friday starting in August.
  5. 0-2 years of related experience in a laboratory setting from academic coursework.
  6. Proven ability to work independently without continuous feedback.
  7. Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment.
  8. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  2. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  3. Basic understanding of quality control principles and laboratory procedures (USP, GMP, GDP).
