Responsibilities:

  • Provide site management, supervision, and employees with services and advice on Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Complete daily administration, coordination, and implementation of site Health, Safety, and Environment programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of published safety literature, safety and health regulations.
  • Audit compliance to company standards by site supervision and employees.
  • Advise site management of substandard situations and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Participate with the Health Safety and Environment coordinator and other safety inspectors in the development, revisions, and implementation of procedures, standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain site-specific KPIs and present findings to corporate and site management.
  • Analyze statistical data and the audit results to identify problem areas and recommend corrective action.
  • Establish and supervise the work site medical and first aid program, where applicable.
  • Lead in the investigation of incidents for cause identification and recommend corrective action.
  • Audit site incident investigation reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Audit personal protective equipment usage by craft employees, evaluate their effectiveness, and recommend improvements, where necessary.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance to company, client, and governmental standards relative to Safety, Health, and Environment.
  • Conduct site safety orientation for new employees and maintain records.
  • Prepare site-specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Participate in and may be required to conduct safety meetings.
  • Audit the adequate supply of safety equipment, such as protective equipment, fire extinguishers, respirators, etc., and work directly with site procurement to close gaps.
  • Monitor environmental hazards, such as excessive noise, toxic agents, spills, etc.

  • Fall Protection (ESC)
  • NCSO

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in a confined space
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
