This is a middle office function that works closely with the Corporate Client Group (CCG) and other partners within the Bank to deliver a full range of credit and banking services to multinational and other large corporate relationships.

Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Fall 2025 placement with a start date of September 2025 and end date of December 2025.

To be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning to school after the work term end date of December 2025; or
  • If you are not returning to school (i.e., graduating in September/December 2025), you require the work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

What will you do?

  • Manage credit risk related to syndicated and bilateral loan facilities and trading derivative lines. Tasks include preparing annual reviews, reviewing loan documentation, and conducting financial modeling where required.
  • Monitor the business and financial performance of your portfolio through daily analysis of financial and industry data, regulatory events, external rating agency movements, and early warning signals.
  • Identify and assess deteriorating risk situations through credit analysis and propose actions to your Team Leader & Director to safeguard the bank's funds.
  • Ensure compliance with loan agreements by verifying performance against financial covenants, margin limits, and bank policies.
  • Maintain accurate reflection of key terms and conditions of credit agreements in bank systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Build relationships and interact extensively with other functions within the organization, including CCG, Risk Management, Loan Administration, and clients (internal & external).

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Strong credit analysis and technical skills, with the ability to critically assess financial statements and client reports, and draw relevant conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and interact at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to understand complex legal documents, prioritize tasks, and perform under pressure to meet deadlines, often outside standard hours.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-have:

  • Progress toward an MBA or professional designation (e.g., CA, CMA, CFA) or a postgraduate degree in business, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Previous banking experience in relationship management, credit structuring, and proposal writing.
  • Ability to read and communicate legal documents in French.
  • Familiarity with RBC Capital Markets or CCG credit processes and loan agreements.
  • Knowledge of internal systems such as CCMS, TMS, & Newton.
