General Motors is offering an Industrial Engineering Co-Op position at the Oshawa Assembly Plant. Work Arrangement:
Onsite : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly on a full-time basis.

The Role:
This Industrial Engineering Co-Op Student will provide valuable experience and direct exposure to manufacturing operations in a high-tech environment. The Oshawa Assembly Plant has undergone major plant conversions, which has seen the introduction of the best available technology! Throughout our Manufacturing operations, we are using innovative ways to problem solve, and for the design of systems and process. We are a company that will give you responsibility, accountability, and a team environment that encourages involvement and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
We have an ambitious assignment throughout the Oshawa Assembly Plant! During the work term, you will gain experience in the following areas:
Direct labour, line balancing, layout and cost savings
Indirect labour, line balancing, layout and efficiency analysis
Special projects, labour savings, suggestion processing, and GMS workshop
You will also learn skills of dealing with people, working under time constraints, design, and practical implementation of university learning.
Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Bachelor's (2nd and 3rd year students) degree in one of the following areas: Industrial Engineering
Able to to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 4, 8, 12 or 16-month term (1-4 consecutive semesters) starting May 2025
Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible working hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Prior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry
AutoCAD would be an asset
