Job description

Job Summary

Corporate Treasury manages enterprise-wide capital, liquidity, non-trading interest rate risk, pension assets, and executes term funding, capital, and interest rate risk hedging transactions. This role offers the opportunity to work in both the Capital & Liquidity areas of Corporate Treasury.

Financial Resource Optimization (FRO) within Capital Measurement focuses on managing capital resources to support RBC’s strategic goals. It involves measuring, monitoring, and forecasting risk-weighted assets, leverage, and capital metrics, collaborating with various teams to optimize capital deployment and ensure regulatory compliance.

Liquidity Measurement primarily manages RBC’s liquidity risk to meet regulatory and internal targets, developing strategies and contingency plans aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

As a Data & Product Analyst student, you will support the Capital & Liquidity Data, Systems, and Business Solutions teams, assisting Product Owners with infrastructure platforms and upgrades driven by regulatory and strategic initiatives.

What will you do?
  1. Analytics & Metrics: Support data-driven decision making by analyzing key data related to Capital & Liquidity Measurement and Reporting, and develop dashboards and KPIs.
  2. Root Cause Problem Solving: Investigate business process issues through data analysis, engage with teams, and communicate findings effectively to implement solutions.
  3. Special Projects: Contribute creatively to projects involving data, technical capabilities like AI/ML, visualization, and more to improve products and user experience.
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary program focused on Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and apply analytical thinking to data and business concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of Capital, Liquidity, and Risk Management.
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines like CAR & LAR.
  • Experience in business analysis, financial industry, FinTech, or agile methodologies.
