What is the opportunity?

This role will jointly support Performance Management's Cost Advisory and Platform PM team. You will assist in enhancing the delivery of reporting to senior business leaders and other Finance partners for both financial and non-financial data related to costs. This position is suitable for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment with high visibility across RBC Capital Markets.

What will you do?

  1. Maintain and improve tracking and reporting of CM projects and cost initiatives benefits.
  2. Assess the financial impact of initiatives and strategic decisions, incorporating impacts into future forecasts and plans.
  3. Develop ad hoc analytical tools and initiatives, including automating key processes and reports, in collaboration with management.
  4. Participate in month-end and quarter-end P&L close processes, performing analysis and reconciliations, liaising with global finance personnel.
  5. Conduct ad hoc analyses for senior management to better understand business drivers and identify opportunities for performance improvement, revenue growth, or cost reduction.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience with PowerPoint and presentation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Motivated individual capable of working under pressure in a high-stakes environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Interest in obtaining a CPA or CFA designation.

Nice-to-have

  • Exposure to Capital Markets products and businesses.
  • Experience in accounting/finance and reporting environments.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools and managing large datasets.
