Job Title: 2025 Canada Fall Co-ops - Software Development - Demonware

Job Description

This role will be required to be onsite at the Demonware Vancouver office following the team's work schedule (hybrid, 3 days a week). A relocation package may be offered depending on eligibility.

The Company

Demonware, a member of the Activision family of studios, collaborates with engineers and creatives at AAA partner studios to deliver online and data services for major franchises like Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot. We are committed to openness, collaboration, and innovation.

We are open to work terms of 8+ months starting mid-September. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!

Challenges and Technologies

Hosting millions of users, we utilize technologies such as Python, Linux, MySQL, C++, and Erlang. Our co-op students have a significant impact, with some producing code that runs in production within days of joining.

The Role
  1. Assist game studios in integrating multiplayer features into upcoming Call of Duty titles.
  2. Develop plugins and extend our automation framework.
  3. Develop core features for allocation and provisioning systems.
  4. Scale and support our Kubernetes platform.
  5. Create tools and automations for distributed systems.
  6. Deploy and maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters across data centers.
  7. Conduct root cause analyses and implement solutions to prevent incidents.
  8. Participate in design and code reviews.
  9. Develop automation tools.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program or up to 1 year post-graduation.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Familiarity with Linux and source control (preferably git).
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, especially MySQL.
  • Networking knowledge (TCP, UDP).
  • Experience with multi-platform development, security, scalability, REST web services, Kubernetes, and Go.

Compensation
