Job description

The Postnatal wards care for women who have delivered their baby and are adjusting to parenthood. The Rotunda Hospital is a tertiary referral unit caring for a wide variety of patients and their families. The Postnatal wards care for every woman and her baby from their admission post-delivery until their discharge home.

Qualifications And Experience

Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date for the competition:

  1. Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
  2. Have at least 5 years post-registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years full-time post-registration experience), with at least 2 years in the specialty or a related area.
  3. Have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  4. Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
  5. Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  6. Maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the NMBI.
  7. Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the Director of Midwifery and Nursing Department at The Rotunda Hospital.
