Position: Secondary Counsellor, Full Time (1.0 FTE)

Location: Rockridge Secondary School

Effective: September 2, 2025 until June 30, 2026

The annual salary ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, based on experience and qualifications, prorated for FTE.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • A completed Master's degree in school counselling, counselling psychology, or equivalent
  • Recent experience as a secondary counsellor working with students in grades 8-12
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Professional Certificate of Qualification
  • Experience with individual and group counselling for personal, health, education, and emotional issues
  • Experience with behavioral plans and IEPs
  • Ability to coordinate with community agencies and health professionals; training in Suicide Risk Assessment, Threat Assessment, and Critical Incident Response
  • Technological proficiency in counselling duties
  • Experience working with at-risk students (preferred)
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of graduation requirements, course programming, student information systems, and IB Middle Years Programme (preferred)
