What We Do

WAHA is an integrated health system providing comprehensive care to six communities along the western James Bay coast, with over 500 employees, physicians, and care partners. Our setting offers unique opportunities to care for patients throughout all life stages and health experiences, including Primary, Acute, Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, and the WAHA Paramedic Service. We operate community-based programs across six communities, with six paramedic bases, three hospitals, four emergency departments, one community health centre, and 72 beds. Who You Are

  • Ability to follow the dietary sanitation code
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Reliable and able to work all shifts
  • English proficiency is essential
  • Team player

What You'll Do

  • Provide dietary services in the kitchen cafeteria, deliver and pick up trays from patient units
  • Operate the cash register as required
  • Assist in assembling patient trays and delivering/picking them up from wards
  • Report safety issues to the manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • Successful completion of secondary school
  • Certification in Food Handlers Safety or willingness to obtain
  • English proficiency is essential
  • Ability to communicate in Cree is an asset
