Job description

2025-13: CC One (1) Temporary Inclusion Support Worker

Join us for the 2025-13: CC One (1) Temporary Inclusion Support Worker role at Fort St. John Association for Community Living.

The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities since 1960. As a CARF-accredited agency, we employ over 80 professionals committed to providing quality services and fostering inclusion.

Our Community Connections Inclusion program offers life skills training addressing communication, social skills, health, community participation, employment, and independent living. We support around fifty individuals aged 19 to 80, with tailored supports based on personal needs.

Responsibilities
  • Orientation to various program areas, including community and home-based 1-on-1 support, working with adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities to develop life skills.
  • Organizing and leading group activities such as games, karaoke, life skills sessions (reading, writing, math, money management, healthy relationships, cooking, hygiene), science, art, and drama.
  • Facilitating community outings like movies, concerts, library visits, exercise activities, and other recreational events.

Requirements
  • Valid Canadian Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Vulnerable sector criminal record clearance (to be completed after a successful interview).
  • Clear tuberculosis screening (instructions provided post-interview).
  • Must be at least 19 years old; applicants turning 19 within the year will be considered.
  • Reliable vehicle; availability for weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

This is a temporary, unionized position (BCGEU Grid level 10), with shifts averaging 7.5 to 8 hours, paying between $25.95 and $29.76 per hour based on experience and seniority.
