    Position Summary

    The Anne Ross Day Nursery Mentor brings senior child development knowledge expertise and experience to ARDN acting as a support and advisor to staff in the Infant and Pre-School Programs. The Mentor works alongside staff with children in the programs knows and understands the needs of and plans for the children and is available to answer questions facilitate staff learning and problem-solve issues. The Mentor has a leadership role in the implementation of direct service components of program quality plans and program improvements.

    Qualifications

    Education

    ECE III Classification from the Manitoba Child Care Program with Infant Care Post Diploma Certificate or specialization in Program Management and / or Special Needs / Children with Challenging Needs

    Current Infant / Child First Aid and CPR Certificate

    Skills Expertise and Experience

    Minimum of 2 years experience working with / caring for children in a child care facility

    Experience training coaching supervising or mentoring child care staff or students

    Demonstrated understanding of child development theory and principles and ability to put that understanding into practice

    Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking decision-making problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
