Department: Planning and Infrastructure

Employment Status: Full-time

Salary: $31.34 – 37.46/HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:

The Housing Maintenance Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of housing facilities within the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek community. This position involves overseeing daily maintenance activities, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring that all housing units are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Key responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, and coordinating and performing repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. The Housing Maintenance Lead also develops and coordinates maintenance schedules, responds to emergency maintenance requests, and addresses maintenance concerns from residents. Additionally, they assist in budget management, maintain accurate records, adjust maintenance plans based on seasonal demands, and engage with the community to provide updates on repair status. Demonstrating a commitment to serving the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek community is essential in this role.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or Equivalent
  • Technical training, such as building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems, is highly preferred
  • Diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical techniques, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing maintenance or a related field

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend conferences, training, and meetings to remain current with information on housing maintenance programs and techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with community members to address maintenance concerns and provide updates on repair status.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules, prioritize work orders, and coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Address maintenance concerns from residents, providing timely solutions and communicating effectively to enhance satisfaction.
  • Prepare monthly program and statistical reports
  • Monitor program expenditures and maintain tracking tool
